The Arthur Schnitzler’s play “La Ronde. Dix dialogues” consists of ten interlocking scenes between pairs of lovers. These ten characters, across all levels of society, meet, seduce, desire, love, play and manipulate each other until they form a loop. Inside this passionate loop, the bodies break and mingle in a precise choreography, at each moment of the sexual intercourse. Do we not dance as we make love?

One hundred and twenty years later, Arthur Schnitzler’s words still resonate with our behavior of desire, not without humor. It raises the questions of consent, of the balance of power between genders, of the desire to be submitted to or to submit... These women and men are transmitting, through the sexual act, a part of themselves. But also the part of the previous partner, despite them. Tainted by all the others, who are we really?
